Kristin Defer

Kristin is eta’s newest associate, bringing with her over 7 years of experience in landscape architecture. She received her Masters of Landscape Architecture from UBC, and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Landscape and Urban Design.

Kristin has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential, to commercial, to public realm. She has been the project manager on a number of development sites, successfully completing hundreds of new homes in the Metro Vancouver area, all with unique programming and design contributions. Kristin was the lead contributor to the Johnson Street Bridge revitalization in Victoria, BC, as part of the design team conceptualizing three large and distinct park and public spaces in the downtown core. 

She has also contributed to the design of institutional projects, such as residences at UBC, and a number of private secondary schools including Alcuin College and Saint John Paul’s II School. 

In her new role as Asociate, Kristin mentors her younger colleagues and is part of the overall management team in the office.  She also takes pride in meeting clients’ expectations and deadlines.  Client service is high on her list of professional priorities.

Kristin enjoys travel, cooking, and cuddling cats in her spare time.
